Nano Banana 2.1 is a browser-based image generation and photo-editing workspace. Start with a written description for a new image, or upload reference photos and describe the details you want to change or preserve.
The workspace can be used to explore product scenes, social graphics, illustrations, and poster concepts. Text-to-Image is useful when starting from an idea. Image-to-Image provides a reference-led starting point for changes to a subject, background, lighting, or visual direction.
A practical workflow
- Describe the subject, setting, and intended use.
- Add relevant reference images when an existing subject or composition matters.
- Choose the available model, aspect ratio, resolution, and batch size.
- Check the displayed credit cost before submitting.
- Review the image at full size and download the result you want to use.
Access and limits
An account is required to generate images. New accounts receive 16 starter credits; generation costs depend on the selected model and output settings. Paid subscriptions and one-time credit packs are available.
Generated text, faces, labels, and small product details require human review. A reference does not guarantee an exact reproduction, and a downloaded image does not provide editable typography layers. Processing time varies with the task and provider load.
